Smiling Tree along with Knowledgentia Consultants conducted a plantation drive in Hansraj College, University of Delhi. More than 20 volunteers planted over 100 trees on Monday, 24th April, to commemorate Earth Day a couple of days ago. It was the third green activity of the two year long partnership between Knowledgentia Consultants and Smiling Tree.
Smiling Tree is a eleven year old green initiative which has been relentlessly working towards betterment of environment. It has been conducting Plantation Drives, Anti Plastic Drives and other environment awareness campaigns. Smiling Tree has thus far planted nearly seven lakhs trees in and around Delhi-NCR.
Dr Mukesh Kwatra, founder of Smiling Tree said, “It gives me immense happiness and satisfaction with so many volunteers coming forward to plant trees. Humans, animals and the environment depend upon trees for survival. By planting more trees, we all contribute towards global reforestation efforts, repairing damaged ecosystems and mitigating climate change effects.”
Dr Kwatra gifted all participating volunteers a rosemary plant and motivated them to carry on doing the good work and also adopt trees.
The green endeavor organised went a long way in introducing and orienting the young minds to develop a continuing compassion for environment and Mother Earth.
