Smiling Tree organized a plantation drive today on 22 April, 2022 to commemorate Earth Day and planted over 300 saplings at Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar Hospital, Rohini, Delhi. The medical fraternity of the Hospital joined in and carried out the plantation with profound enthusiasm.
Smiling Tree founder Dr Mukesh Kwatra said, “The theme for this Earth Day on 22 April, 2022 is ‘Invest in Our Planet’. It is to remind us that the time to act is now, while it’s still possible. It is a wake up call for all of us, for societies, for industries, for governments to address climate change and sustainable development in parallel. With Earth warming up rapidly there is a dire need for strengthened commitments to curb emissions and to limit the global average temperature increase to no higher than 1.5°C. Green cover needs to be expanded by planting more trees and increasing the forest areas.”
